The year is 2016 and over the last decade the right of citizens in the US have been slowly stripped away including the use of any non-electronic forms of communication (pens, pencils, crayons, markers, etc.) for the government wants to know everything people are writing/saying to each other which they can do now by spying on the Internet, cell phones and other electrical devices. One woman is the sole inheritor of a 1940’s Smith-Corona typewriter, the only device left not connected to the Internet or under government control.
